From the beginning...
Born in Slidell, Louisiana and then raised in Charlotte, North Carolina Kole's Southern roots run deep. He has always felt right at-home whenever it came to being the limelight, but his passion for singing began with The Charlotte Children's Choir. When choral arrangements weren't enough Kole turned to the seasonal nativity and church camp musicals. By the age of sixteen Kole was all in- he was set to work, live, and breathe musical theatre. He attended dance classes in Charlotte, took private voice lessons, and even started to perform with more people on the community and local professional level. This is where Kole had the pleasure to perform/grow alongside some other very talented artists such as: Eva Noblezada (Miss Saigon/Hadestown/Gatsby), Renee Rapp (Mean Girls/Secret Life...), Phillip J. Richardson (The Wiz; Hamilton & Little Voice), Abby Corrigan (Jesus Christ Superstar LIVE & Castle Rock), Liam Pearce (How to Dance in Ohio), and Jeremiah Alsop (The Who's Tommy) and others. Kole then auditioned and was accepted to join Michael Rafter in Manhattan, New York and attend master classes/workshops as a part of "Destination Broadway"; a camp created by Jim Haas to prepare teens for college/career in the performing arts. This same passion drove him to graduate with his BFA in Musical Theatre Performance in 2017 from East Carolina University. A University known for notable working/influential alumni on Broadway, Westend, and TV/film such as: Howell Binkley (Hamilton), Jeremy Woodard (Rock of Ages/The Last Ship/School of Rock), Marisha Wallace (Book of Mormon/Dreamgirls/Guys & Dolls; TV: Jingle Jangle & Aladdin), Malcolm Armwood (Hadestown), Daniel Fetter (Book of Mormon), and Jean Christian Barry (How to Dance in Ohio). Since graduation, Kole has worked at an equity theater level, performed at regional theaters, dinner theatre, outdoor playhouses, theme parks, children show tours, served on Artistic Staff at Stagedoor Manor for two years, taught afterschool film/theatre programs in Manhattan/Brooklyn schools, and more. Outside of the theatre Kole is an activist. From earning his Eagle Scout Award in 2010, to receiving a National Certificate of Merit for lifesaving. Kole also enjoys board games, breweries, bowling, and Disney Lorcana TCG. |
